Corona Update in Indonesia (12 June 2020)

Positive cases of the corona virus in Indonesia are still increasing, reaching more than 38,000 cases. Meanwhile around the world, the corona virus has infected more than 7.5 million people. According to the data, the addition of positive cases in Indonesia began to accelerate since June 6, between 800-1000 people per day.

To prevent the addition of positive cases of contracting the corona virus, since April 10, 2020, region by region in Indonesia has imposed Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB). In total there are 3 provinces and 4 regencies / cities that enforce the PSBB until Tuesday

Jakarta with the highest number of cases is still experiencing a fluctuating addition of Covid-19 patients.

In the last two weeks, up to Thursday 12 June, the addition of positive cases in Jakarta has moved in the range of 80-100 cases per day. Positive cases in Jakarta are now more than 8,863 people.

As of today Sunday (14/6) the number of patients recovered added to a total of 4,091 and death cases to 571.

Although there are still more cases, during the Transitional PSBB period, several sectors are planned to be opened within a specified time.

Shopping centers such as malls will open from next week.

“Shopping centers or malls and non-food markets can resume services on Monday, June 15,” said Anies, last Thursday (4/6).

Socio-cultural and outdoor sports activities can also operate on June 8. Likewise with libraries and galleries.

Meanwhile, both outdoor and indoor recreational parks can resume operation on June 20 or 21.
