Latest Update Regarding Corona Virus in Indonesia (18 December 2020)

The Ministry of Health announced the addition of corona virus cases in Indonesia today, Thursday (17/12), as many as 7,354 people in the last 24 hours. This is the first time that cases have broken through 7,000, but the highest daily record is still being held by 8,369 cases on December 3, 2020.

With this addition, now the number of positive cases of COVID-19 has reached 643,508 people. Previously, on Wednesday (16/12), the number of positive cases of corona had reached 636,154 people.
Meanwhile, 4,995 people recovered from COVID-19 today. So, now the total is 526,979 people.
Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 positive patients who died was reported to have increased by 142 people. From the additional cases, the total number of patients died reached 19,390.
The number of suspects being monitored today is 62,250 people. Meanwhile, 60,629 specimens were successfully examined in the last 24 hours. For the past two weeks, the addition of daily COVID-19 cases in Indonesia is consistent at 5,000-6,000 people. With the gains still high today, there is no sign that the transmission rate is getting under control.
The government is also on the lookout for a potential spike in corona cases during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Therefore, local governments are asked to tighten health protocols, including imposing strict restrictions on tourist sites, hotels, and entertainment venues.
