Corona Update in Indonesia (19 June 2020)

Positive cases of the corona virus in Indonesia are still increasing, reaching more than 42,000 cases. Meanwhile around the world, the corona virus has infected more than 8.2 million people. According to the data, the addition of positive cases in Indonesia began to accelerate since June 6, namely around 800-1000 people per day.

The following is the curve of corona virus transmission in Indonesia based on data from the Ministry of Health

Jakarta has entered a transitional large-scale social restriction (PSBB) period in handling Covid-19 since June 5, 2020. A number of PSBB provisions which were originally strict but began to slowly relax during the transition period. The condition is that the health protocol must be implemented in a disciplined manner. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has implemented a transitional PSBB because most areas in Jakarta are already in green and yellow zone status.

Jakarta as the province with the highest number of cases is still experiencing a fluctuating addition of Covid-19 patients.

In the last two weeks, of Thursday 18 June, the addition of positive cases in Jakarta has moved in the range of 80-200 cases per day. There are more than 9,385 positive cases in Jakarta.

As of today Friday (19/6) patients recovered to 4,592 and cases died to 594.

In Indonesia, more than half of the patients (data as of June 19, 2020) are male. (male: 52.21% female: 47.76% unknown 0.03%)
