Latest Update Regarding Corona Virus in Indonesia (09 October 2020)

The government has provided an update on the number of positive cases of the corona virus (Covid-19) in Indonesia. The number of new positive cases of corona is still growing.

Data from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force stated that until Thursday (8/10) there were an additional 4,850 new cases of corona infection in Indonesia, bringing the total to 320,564 corona positive cases. Meanwhile, the number of people who recovered from corona cases increased by 3,769 people to become 244,060 people. Meanwhile, the number of people who died from the corona virus in Indonesia increased by 108 people to 11,580 people.

Due to the high number of additional corona positive cases, the government asked the public to have a high and collective responsibility to comply with health protocols. The government believes that to suppress the corona outbreak, is to reduce the transmission rate. For this reason, the government emphasizes the importance of 3M’s behavior, namely wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining distance and avoiding crowds. Based on many studies, diligently washing your hands can reduce the risk of transmitting viruses, including the corona virus by 35%.

While wearing a mask can reduce the risk of corona virus transmission by up to 45% when wearing a cloth mask. Meanwhile, if you use a medical mask, the risk of transmission is reduced by 75%.
