Latest Update Regarding Corona Virus in Indonesia (12 March 2021)

The Ministry of Health updates data on handling COVID-19 in Indonesia. As of Thursday (11/3), with the Isra Mikraj holiday, the Ministry of Health have reported an additional 5,144 new corona cases.

With that addition, now the number of positive corona cases has reached 1,403,722 people.

Apart from announcing positive cases, the Ministry of Health also reported that 117 additional patients died. Adding up to a total of 38,049 patients have died from COVID-19. The good news is that today the number of patients who are reported to have recovered from corona has increased by 8,170. In accumulation, the number of patients recovered to 1,224,603 people, while active cases of corona in Indonesia were recorded at 141.070 people, a reduction of 3,139 people from the previous day. The corona pandemic in Indonesia has been going on for a year, since it was first announced on March 2, 2020.

Currently, the government continues to carry out various efforts to deal with this pandemic, starting with imposing micro-scale PPKM, cutting joint leave, to ongoing vaccination programs targeted for completion within one year.

After the active corona cases in Indonesia reached 174 thousand, since the implementation of the micro PPKM the number has continued to decline now at 144 thousand. In addition, the increase in the number of positive cases since early March 2021 has also ranged from 5-7 thousand per day.

In Indonesia, half of the patients (data until March 4, 2021) are male. (male: 49.96%, female: 50.04%, unannounced 0.00%).
