Latest Update Regarding Corona Virus in Indonesia (15 January 2021)

The new corona cases in Indonesia have not seen any signs of slowing down. Conversely, the addition of new corona cases is getting higher and again recording at record high.

Launching the Covid19.go.id page, until Thursday (14/1) there were an additional 11,557 new cases of corona infection in Indonesia and this is the largest addition. So that the total becomes 869,600 positive cases of corona. Meanwhile, the number who recovered from corona cases increased by 7,741 people totaling to 711,205 people recovered.

Meanwhile, the number of people who died from the corona virus in Indonesia increased by 295 to 25,246 people. Due to the high number of additional corona positive cases, the government asked the public to have a high and collective responsibility to comply with health protocols. Because to suppress the corona outbreak, it starts from reducing the transmission rate.

For this reason, the government emphasizes the importance of 3M’s behavior, namely wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining distance and avoiding crowds. Based on many studies, diligently washing your hands can reduce the risk of transmitting viruses, including the corona virus by 35%. While wearing a mask can reduce the risk of corona virus transmission by up to 45% if you wear a cloth mask. Meanwhile, if you use a medical mask, the risk of transmission is reduced by 75%.
