Latest Update Regarding Corona Virus in Indonesia (18 June 2021)

New cases of Corona in Indonesia have not subsided, the addition of postive cases has skyrocketed. So, stay disciplined in carrying out health protocols to avoid the transmission of the corona virus.

According to data from the Covid-19 Task Force, as of Thursday (17/6) there were an additional 12,624 new cases of corona infection in Indonesia. This brings the total to 1,950,276 positive cases of Corona. Meanwhile, the number of those who recovered from the Corona case increased by 7,350 people, bringing the total to 1,771,220 people cured. Meanwhile, the number of people who died from the Corona virus in Indonesia has increased by 277 people binging the total to 53,753 people.

Due to the high number of additional positive cases of Corona, the government asks the public to have a high and collective responsibility to comply with the health protocols. In order to suppress the Corona outbreak, we must start from reducing the transmission rate. For this reason, the government emphasizes the importance of 5M behavior, namely wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and limiting mobility.

Based on many studies, diligent hand washing can reduce the risk of transmitting viruses, including the Corona virus by 35%. While wearing a mask can reduce the risk of transmitting the Corona virus by up to 45% if you wear a cloth mask. Meanwhile, if you use a medical mask, the risk of transmission is reduced by up to 75%.
