The Parc by SouthCity Winner Asia Property Awards 2020

The 6th Annual PropertyGuru Indonesia Property Awards unveiled today the recipients of more than 40 marks of excellence in real estate, in a historic virtual gala event and awards ceremony broadcast globally via AsiaPropertyAwards.com and partner channels.

The first virtual gala edition of Indonesia’s leading real estate awards programme awarded properties in almost 40 competitive categories that reflected a comprehensive array of market segments. This year’s awards represented a wide range of demographics, acknowledging the home ownership and investment needs of property seekers in various locations throughout the archipelago.

Sinar Mas Land garnered four wins at the awards ceremony, including Best Developer, an accolade it had last won in 2015. It also scored one of the highest prizes of the night – Best Housing Development (Indonesia) for Caelus at Greenwich Park BSD City. The developer also won a trophy never presented before at the awards: Best Millennial Housing Development for Imajihaus at Greenwich Park BSD City.

Another former Best Developer winner, Agung Sedayu Group, won Best Township Masterplan Design for its venture with Salim Group, PIK 2 Sedayu Indo City. Agung Sedayu Group also claimed the prize of Best Hotel Interior Design for HARRIS Suites Puri Mansion.

In addition to high-end projects, the archipelago’s most reasonably priced residential properties were honoured at the ceremony. The award for Best Affordable Condo Development (Jakarta) went to Embarcadero by PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk, while the award for Best Affordable Condo Development (Greater Jakarta) went to The Parc by SouthCity. Another accolade, Best Low Cost Housing Development, was awarded to Red Palm at Triraksa Village 2 by PT Mitra Usaha Perkasa (Badak Perkasa Group).

Lippo Group emerged as one of the night’s biggest victors, winning the coveted trophies for Best Mixed Use Developer and Best Condo Development (Indonesia) for its Orange County project. In addition to its win in the affordable category, PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk won for its township development Lippo Village and smart office/home office project SOHO Flex/Space. Meanwhile, PT Lippo Cikarang Tbk scored a win for housing development Waterfront Estates.

PT Pakuwon Permai (Pakuwon Group) gained wins for the massive mixed-use site Pakuwon Mall Superblock and hospitality project The Westin Surabaya. Pakuwon Group Chairman Alexander Tedja personally accepted the title of Indonesia Real Estate Personality of the Year, honouring his immense legacy to property development from Jakarta to Surabaya for the last 38 years.

The award, which is decided annually by the editors of PropertyGuru Property Report Magazine, recognises his mastery of developing live-work-play environments, as exemplified by the group’s signature portfolio of superblocks, townships, and mixed-use sites, which encompasses some of the archipelago’s most popular shopping malls and retail destinations.

Aside from the mature markets of Jakarta and Surabaya, this year’s edition of the awards also recognised excellence in property development around Bali, Lombok, Makassar, and Greater Indonesia. GandaLand received the award of Best Low Rise Residential Development (Bali) for its Lavaya Residence & Resort Bali project. Representing the market of Lombok, Torok Hill Resort by Invest Islands won Best Upcoming Hotel Development. Meanwhile, the Bandung project Hegarmanah Residence by PT Hegar Amanah Jaya Bersama was named Best Condo Development (Greater Indonesia).

Around 25 companies competed in this year’s awards. Tanrise Property was crowned Best Boutique Developer and acclaimed for its Arc 100 project, which won Best Condo Architectural Design. PT Jababeka Tbk was named Best Industrial Developer while PT Urban Jakarta Propertindo, Tbk was named Best Breakthrough Developer.

Awarded the Highly Commended citation for Best Breakthrough Developer, PT AKR Land Development received honours for AKR Gallery West Residences, which includes the architecturally impressive Sky Home project. PT AKR Surabaya Land Corporindo was Highly Commended in the Best Township Masterplan Design category for AKR Grand Estate Marina City.

Other winning masterplanned and mixed-use projects include Sahid Kuta Lifestyle Resort by PT Indonesian Paradise Property Tbk, which won Best Mixed Use Architectural Design, and Meikarta by PT. Mahkota Sentosa Utama, which won Best CBD Masterplan Design (Greater Jakarta) and Best CBD Landscape Architectural Design.

PT Indonesian Paradise Property Tbk also won big in the Design categories for two projects: 31 Sudirman Suites and Sahid Kuta Lifestyle Resort. The joint venture of SwanCity and Mitsubishi Estate Residence meanwhile won twice in the Design categories for its Daisan project.

Mal Ciputra Tangerang by Ciputra Group and Senayan Park by Ariobimo Laguna Perkasa received top honours in the retail categories this year.

Three new special prizes were awarded to top institutions. The Ministry of Public Works and Housing, PT. Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, and Rumah Asuh received the Special Recognition for Transport Infrastructure Development, Special Recognition for Innovative Banking Industry Development, and Special Recognition for Cultural Conservation, respectively.
