PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) is the result of a merger of 3 state-owned banks, namely Bank Syariah Mandiri, BNI Syariah and BRI Syariah. Which operated on Monday, 1 February 2021 and was inaugurated directly by President Joko Widodo.

It is hoped that this merger will unite the advantages of the three Syariah Banks to present a more complete service, a wider reach, and have a better capital capacity. Supported by synergies with parent companies (Mandiri, BNI, BRI) and government commitment through the Ministry of BUMN, Indonesian Sharia Banks are encouraged to be able to compete at the global level.
